I’m very happy for Danny. I saw the news from Danny’s instagram story. He was so overwhelmed, he was fighting back the tears.
I really did suspect that Danny could get a nomination for this album. He has an award winning producer and the lead single went to #1. It is an anthem type song.
Congratulations to Team Danny!!
What exciting news to wake up to!! I’m so happy for Danny and his team. A Grammy!!
CONGRATULATIONS DANNY!!!!
Wow!! Way to go Danny, Miguel, Eric, Bernard, Kevin, Kevin and everyone else who was involved in this incredibly awesome album with an even more amazingly talented team of musicians!! You deserve it!! #GokeyGroupie
Hi Angelsnell,
We are thrilled with Danny’s team getting the Grammy nomination. Unfortunately for his band, only Maestro was actually involved with the album, and I think only the song “Better Than I Found It”. I believe Danny’s producer, Bernie Herms selects the musicians for the album.
But Maestro, Miguel, Eric, Bernard, Kevin, Kevin do a great job in concert!
Nice to see Danny the lead in this article from his hometown paper:

That’s quite awesome, Danny and his whole team & family must be thrilled.
From what I recall at least for country music, it’s customary in Nashville that the touring musicians don’t record for singles or albums unless the artist identity itself is a “band” presumably. There seems to be a whole cadre of Nashville session players who don’t necessarily tour but specialize in recording to back up the lead artists working with their producer(s).
I suppose in that vein, Danny might get multiple credits as a supporting player — wasn’t RISE one of the cases where he’s his own background vocalist on almost all the tracks?
If he was to win, would he get two award trophies, one for background vocalist and one for lead. Or 3 for being writer, too 😉
Very exciting time for Team Danny!
I will join you Admin2 in some celebrating emoticons!

Awesome news! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m proud of Danny! <3
You got this Danny!
Hi Noel! We would love for Danny to win, but they are all great nominees!
i don’t know how that works with Grammy’s. For some awards with an album, perhaps it’s the artist and producer who get any trophies? I suppose there is YT video of people getting their awards to be sure lol.
But I was thinking anyone on the album could brag on it of course, whether writers, musicians including DG’s multi-credits for being his own bgv’s in most of the songs, plus the choirs and duet partners, and all the techs who contributed, management, on and on.
And they can all be proud to claim work on the “Grammy-nominated RISE album by Danny Gokey.” Has a nice sound.
I saw a couple of people today on twitter taking note already, including Danny’s microphone vendor 🙂
No matter who gets actual awards, Danny can be proud of the large role he had on making Rise, the album: co-wrote all but 2 of the songs, lead artist and background vocalist.
Congratulations, Danny. Well deserved. 😁😁😁😁
Danny – I love your music so much. It inspires me so much and I went to your last concert when you were at the Woodlands. Keep up God’s work. You are rocking it. You don’t know how much your words and music encourage all of us. It is will all my heart that I can honestly tell you that I smile every time I hear one of your songs on my 2 hour commute to work. I am excited about your Grammy nomination. Continue to bring God’s light to the radio. You are amazing.
