The writing sessions have started for Danny Gokey’s next album. Songwriter and producer Bernie Herms has shared photos of two of the writers that Danny is working with to craft the new album.

Brett James (born 1968) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. Since the early 2000s, James has become known primarily as a songwriter for other country and pop music artists. Among his compositions is Carrie Underwood’s 2006 Number One hit “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” which received Grammy Awards for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song. His writers’ credits also include Number One hits for Jessica Andrews, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Rodney Atkins and Jason Aldean. And he co-wrote Danny’s #1 single, Hope in Front of Me.

Felicia Diana Barton (born March 6, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter, best known for her appearance on the eighth season of American Idol in 2009. Since 2013, she has joined Warner-Chappell Music and Pulse Recording as a songwriter, and has co-written songs for Demi Lovato and Lea Michele. Her son is Stuck in the Middle star Malachi Barton.

Danny is signed to BMG Artist Servies for his albums. On November 30th, Danny’s “Rise” helped BMG set another milestone on the Billboard Independent Albums chart – landing 15 titles in the Top 50.
