O Come O Come Emmanuel
Danny Gokey is included in the just released album, “A Motown Gospel Christmas”. His song starts as a very soft, acoustic guitar accompanied version and builds to full “Gokey-ness” with a full backing gospel choir and orchestra! For your $1.29 you get a 4:45 minute Christmas song. This is Danny’s first Capitol Records Christian Group project. (Second project if you count Tuyo with the Social Club Misfits.)
Find it HERE. This is how Capitol describes the album:
The festive 9-track collection features holiday classics performed by the legendary label’s artist roster and extended musical family.
Vocal powerhouse Tasha Cobbs Leonard delivers an epic performance of “O Holy Night,” while Lexi’s passionate “Give Love On Christmas Day” harkens back to the classic Jackson 5 rendition. Other standout moments include Brian Courtney Wilson’s rousing “Give Us A Star,” producer Max Stark’s festive “Piano Carol” medley, and Kenny Lattimore’s smooth rendition of “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen.”
The project also includes don’t-miss moments from Capitol Christian Music Group artists Danny Gokey (“O Come, O Come Emmanuel”) and Mandisa (“Beautiful Son”),
It’s great to see Danny already featured on one of his label’s affiliated partners with a lineup of gospel artists. Or two, counting Tuyo which is having a fun run on the charts.
When I first saw the hint on this project, it didn’t connect for me that Motown Gospel was a reference to a music label as well of course to the musical sound.
