Danny Gokey Performs a 1973 Classic
For “Haven’t Seen It Yet” album debut, Danny Gokey and his band made a stop at Sirius XM in New York City.ย They performed a few songs in studio, including the classic Doobie Brothers song,
“Long Train Running”.
Enjoy!
Down around the corner
A half a mile from here
You see them long trains runnin’
And you watch them disappear
Without love
Where would you be now
Without love
You know I saw Miss Lucy
Down along the tracks
She lost her home and her family
And she won’t be comin’ back
Without love
Where would you be right now
Without love
Well the Illinois Central
And the Southern Central Freight
Gotta keep on pushin’ Mama
‘Cause you know they’re runnin’ late
Without love
Where would you be now – now, now, now
Without love
[Instrumental]
Well the Illinois Central
And the Southern Central Freight
Gotta keep on pushin’ Mama
You know they’re runnin’ late
Without love
Where would you be now
Without love
When pistons keep on churnin’
And the wheels go ’round and ’round
And the steel rails lie cold and hard
For the miles that they go down
Without love
Where would you be right now
Without love
Where would you be now
Love it!
Hi Melinda! Danny really nails it, doesn’t he?!?
Danny Gokey you nailed this song. You are so amazing in everything you sing. Keep doing what you do for Our God. My question is what can you not Sing? I agreed WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT LOVE?
Hi Linda, that voice, right??
Danny Gokey you are AMAZING you can sing anything and this brings me back to my senior year high school. OMG YOU KILLED IT๐ฏ๐๐๐ค๐ love you from one of your many #1 fans
Debbie Hynds
“from one of you many #1 fans” love this Debbie! So true!! Danny has a way of collecting VERY loyal fans ๐๐
Wow Danny! Randy said it, ‘ This is a singing contest and you can sing”! I can’t wait to see what’s next! I so would love to see you do something with Donny & Marie, and a Motown piece.
Catherine, I would love to have an album of Danny covering Motown someday. His voice is so well-suited to that genre. And/or an album of original blue-eyed soul music. Either or both as an adjunct to what he does now. CCM is a genre that has embraced Danny and in which he feels at home.
I love most of the music Danny has put out, including the country era.
Hi Ellen and Catherine ๐
I am so glad Danny’s music is embraced and celebrated in CCM. But could I use more? YES!
I am thrilled he is doing another Christmas album. I’m a little nervous he won’t be coming to WI or IL for Celebrate Christmas, but glad that the West Coast will get a chance to enjoy that wonderful tour.
Believe it or not (this REALLY isn’t hard to believe if you know me at all…) but I started watching the TBN Christmas special featuring Danny and Natalie last night when I was getting ready for the Dove Awards broadcast. So good!
