A Night at Carnegie Hall

50th Anniversary of the GMA Dove Awards

It was a very special night at Carnegie Hall with Danny Gokey joining Gospel Music Association‘s celebration of 50 years of Dove Awards at Carnegie Hall.  Six award winning artists were invited to showcase the multi-cultural and multi-generational music on one stage.  With a combined total of over 40 individual Dove Awards, they showcased a diversity of music.  Appearing that night were host and performer:  Mark Lowry, and artists Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Russ Taff, Natalie Grant and Danny Gokey.

Danny performed his songs “Haven’t Seen It Yet” and “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” but also “Give Me Jesus” and joined Natalie Grant to sing their duet of “The Prayer”.  He also joined in with the other artist on three songs.

I was able to discreetly take a minute of video to share with all of Danny’s fans.

The magnificence of the historic Carnegie Hall made the celebration even more special. On stage was a vast chorus, conductor and a top notch band. Below I have pictures on the venue, the marque and Danny’s bio in the program. We thrilled that Danny had this opportunity to celebrate with GMA and perform on such a historic stage. We could tell he was very honored and moved by the chance to stand on that stage. A highlight to add to his career.

And from DGNews friend @tonicny, a bit of “The Prayer”:

  1. I sure wish I could of been there. Amazing. As I watch this I receive goose bumps all over. Danny’s music and songs moves my heart and soul in ways it is hard to explain. LET YOUR HEART BEAT AGAIN is one song that hads impacted my life in such a powerful way. My husband and I were in a automobile accident. Aug. 23, 2020 will be 5 years. My husband lost his life in the accident. He died instantly. FORCE trauma. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with many INJURIES. Life threatening INJURIES. A investigator had to go to our home to tell our family that we had been a accident that my husband had lost his life. That would be our daughter that was told first. So yes this is why Danny’s song is important to me. I know and believe God did let my HEART BEAT AGAIN. HE IS SHOWING ME EVERYDAY HIS PLAN FOR MY LIFE.

  2. Welcome to DGNews, Nanny.

I extend my deepest sympathy for the tragic loss of your husband. How horrible to be coping with such loss while severely injured, too.

Your comments will now show immediately without having to be approved.

We are glad to have you hear and I am glad you get comfort from Danny music and this post.
