Danny Gokey on KLOVE Cruise PShellNew Single “Love God, Love People”

Danny Gokey’s third single from his latest album, “Haven’t Seen It Yet” is just starting to get radio play.  Will it pass “Wanted” that peaked at #22 on the Billboard National Christian Airplay chart on 1/31/2020? Currently a few stations are spinning it.  Hopefully April will see program directors embrace this song with such a positive message during this troubled time.

  1. Hey Perlita! Thanks for dropping by! I am so glad you were able to go on the K-LOVE Cruise and enjoy the experience before the pandemic broke out!!

  2. COVID-19 is making its rounds in the Nashville country community. Joe Diffie died. John Prine is hospitalized. And Kalie Shorr and Olivia Lane (both much younger) have been diagnosed with it. One of the symptoms for Kalie and Olivia has been anosmia (loss of smell).

I hope Danny and his family are being careful. Aside from the risk of serious illness or death, any illness that affects the lungs is not good for any singer.

  3. The new single is one of my favorites. It fits the timing.I hope Danny and all my fellow DG fans stay safe and sound.

  4. Not sure what to talk about. Maybe what people are doing during their lockdown? I think most people are locked down by now. At least I hope so. Otherwise people in states that locked down earlier will have to stay home longer, which is not fair.

  5. In our town it is easy to take drives and not see anyone. My husband and I have been rediscovering places, and video taping for family that no longer live in the valley. Our first excursion was to The Dam Keeper’s House. The house was used in the filming of the 1931 movie Frankenstein.

For laughs, I’ve been watching Danny and Leyicet’s Instagram videos. 🙂

    Be well, everyone…

P.S. We are staying home most of the time. Sometimes, when the days are so pretty.. you need to take that drive.

  6. I have been working in my yard. Since we have 20 acres on the end of a dead end road we don’t see anyone! Except yesterday my neighbors walked over and we chatted 30 feet apart! So nice to see them!

  7. Love God Love People hit Top 50 on CAC Mediabase yesterday. Now 49. 8 stations playing it:

  8. Lots of progress on LGLP reaching #42 on the Mediabase CAC chart. A healthy spincrease of 47, nine monitored stations playing it.

  9. This is a retro composite of Danny’s performances at 100 Huntley Street (it ends with his Rise album)

But a nice review, even if it was just published on 4/11/2020

  10. I hope eveyone that celebrates Easter were able to find a broadcast that made it feel almost normal.

I caught my parish’s broadcast and then a bit of Danny on the Belonging Company broadcast and another church in the Nashville area. I had the time since I wasn’t hosting Easter lunch because of Covid 19.

I did make a big Easter meal, but packed it into thirds and our kids picked up “take out” from our house late Saturday afternoon. I have a tradition of taking a family dinner picture – so this year it is a collage of the three households celebrating separately.

Praying for all those fighting the virus….

  11. I really feel for artists like Danny. They don’t provide an essential service, and the normal way of making money — concerts — are not likely to resume anytime soon. Large gatherings will continue to be dangerous for the foreseeable future. But even if they did resume, many are suffering from the financial consequences of the pandemic and would not be able to afford to attend.

  12. Hope everyone had as good an Easter as possible in the circumstances. I also watched online, which I was glad to have but it’s not the same.

The new song seems to be taking off well, hope that continues.

I hope we will begin to see some easing off of the COVID restrictions in the next month or two, and of course continued good trending in the health stats nationwide. Ideal would be treatment regimens to last until a vaccine comes through.

I’m not sure how the concert cycle will be impacted. I could imagine some types of outdoor concerts possibly being able to achieve the desired separation as we go from very strict to less strict guidelines. For example the types of events where people sit on the ground, or put up lawn chairs where small groups of concertgoers could be separated.

Or have tours scale up in venue size vs. where they’d usually go, allowing people to sit further apart. Of course assuming the theater operators and other venue locations would be accommodating on pricing to avoid having their locations sit empty.

If concert ticket pricing is a factor, Danny and his colleagues with moderately priced ticket ranges are probably better off than the top-tier tour acts who charge big $$$s for pavilion and stadium style seating on the major circuits.

Hard to say, really. One variable is that there will be some pent-up demand by people who’ve been constrained so long. I can understand why some would be afraid to go out, but I don’t think that will be all demographics once conditions start to make it possible.

  13. Hi All, This last week has been our major birthday week, so we have creatively been trying to celebrate while still social distancing….

Love God Love People is #39 on Billboard Nat Airplay and #41 on Mediabase CAC with 10 monitored stations. Good start.

I hope you all will get a chance to see Danny’s concert tonight!! See the post link above.

  14. Thank you, Jan.

This is our busy birthday month, too. 🙂

I put a collage together from screenshots of our eagles. I would love to display it, but not sure how. It gives the address on how you can watch our eagles Shadow and Jackie at their nest. You also have a beautiful view of our observatory, lake, and forest. Thought it would give everyone something to watch while we’re all sheltering.

I won’t be able to watch the concert, but look forward to hearing about it. 🙂

  15. Hi Cindy, your collage sounds cool. If you send me the photo by email I can upload it to your comment

    🙂

Danny’s concert was 90 minutes long. Chad of Unspoken was the moderator of the concert. He did a really good job of running it and monitoring the questions and requests coming in.

Of course I asked a lot of questions, but they spread it around. When you are called on you appear on the zoom main screen and you get to ask your question. I asked how many episodes of Better Than I Found It were taped.

Danny said 6 of the 10 were done. He things it will be broadcast around 11/10/2020, but they are still negotiating with platforms to host it, It will also have a musical component. Chad is likely to appear on it , too,

Danny sang most of his hits: RISE, HIFOM, HSIYm /TYHTBA, Wanted, Fighter, No Pressure, Love God Love People.

He had Danny, his keyboard player with him at Chad’s house.

Danny’s manager was very generous in letting DGN first crack at posting about the concert today.

  16. I really like the mash up Unspoken’s “Higher” and Danny’s “Love God, Love People” that they did on the Hope’s Rising Facebook live event last night.

  17. Nice growth on Danny’s single. Now 18 monitored stations (just one less than Wanted had at peak!) Growing steady,
