Danny Gokey is among the artists being listed for an upcoming Nashville-based tribute concert for long-time popular Christian artist Michael W. Smith!
“Celebrating The Music Of Michael W. Smith: 35 Years Of Friends” will take place April 30, 2019 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The lineup includes Amy Grant, Bob Goff, Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys, CeCe Winans, Chonda Pierce, Danny Gokey, Donnie McClurkin, Francesca Battistelli, The Gatlin Brothers, The Isaacs, Jars of Clay, Jason Crabb, Jim Brickman, Jordan Smith, Jordin Sparks, Justin Flom, Laura Story, Lee Greenwood, Mac Powell, Matt Maher, Matthew West, MercyMe, Natalie Grant, Newsboys, The Oak Ridge Boys, Phillips, Craig and Dean, Randy Travis, Ricky Skaggs, Russ Taff, Sandi Patty, Scott Hamilton, Vince Gill, Wayne Kirkpatrick and the Original MWS Band and Wynonna, with more performers to be announced. Smith launched his solo career in Nashville in 1983 with his debut album, “The Michael W. Smith Project” and the hit single “Friends.” He’s been a fixture of the Christian music world ever since, and released his latest album, “A Million Lights,” earlier this year.”
This evening, Danny Gokey’s recent #1 Christian format single “Tell Your Heart To Beat Again,” was featured in a performance by young artists Tahani Anderson and Jake Monreal on FOX Network’s So You Think You Can Dance.
In a fun twist, one of the dance judges was Paula Abdul of Danny’s American Idol season.

“Tell Your Heart To Beat Again” is set as the background to a dance choreographed on a theme about bullying by SYTYCD choreographer Bonnie Story.
At tonight’s K-Love Fan Awards broadcast over K-Love radio out of Nashville, Danny Gokey was just named Male Vocalist of the Year! Well-deserved, and well-illustrated as Danny received the award just minutes after a compelling performance of his current single Tell Your Heart To Beat Again.
Danny Gokey joined radio host and fellow “clean freak” Justin Paul of Christian radio network WAY-FM recently for an extended “More Than The Music” podcast. They talk about Danny’s album Hope In Front Of Me and much more, touching on numerous topics both amusing and serious.
Danny Gokey is part of the line-up for the AtlantaFest Christian music festival, to be held June 16-18, 2016, in Locust Grove, Georgia.
Founded in 1986, AtlantaFest was one of the first large-scale Christian music festivals in the country. Since then, it’s grown into a frontrunner in the industry, paving the way for live Christian entertainment and earning its title as “THE Christian Music Festival.”
