Are you excited for the relaunch of “American Idol” in 2018?
Do yo remember voting for Danny Gokey on “American Idol” or sitting on pins and needles to hear if he was “safe” for another week? Some of us owe (or blame?) “American Idol” for helping us find some amazing artists. Maybe even our FAVORITE artist. (And in my case, sucking up an incredible amount of time. But it is all good; I have some awesome friends from it, too!)
In a recent article by Fred Bronson for Billboard, he talks about what he would like to see in the reboot of the iconic show. And we are pleased that out of the 150 artists that made the top 10 through those fifteen seasons, he has this to say:
THE CONTESTANTS: We’ve always believed that Idol rises and falls on the shoulders of the contestants. The series found a lot of amazing talent over 15 years………. Give us a talent roster as great as Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Kimberley Locke or Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice and Vonzell Solomon or David Cook, David Archuleta and Syesha Mercado or Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey, and we’ll be happy.

FOX NY interviewed Danny Gokey‘s about his new music. This video by the “Morning Blend” of Fox 4 updates viewers on Danny, whether Idol will return in 2018 and the most successful contestants. (We see Danny ‘rising’ on that list!)
BMG /AP has released this video to promote Danny Gokey’s song, RISE.
In an interview for CIY Aeffect, Danny Gokey confirms that “American Idol” winner (Season 6) and pop/R&B singer, Jordin Sparks, will be dueting with him on his upcoming album, “Rise”!!
We believe the song is “Chasing”; penned by producer Bernie Herms, Emily Lynn Weisband and Danny. We suspected something was brewing when we saw Bernie Herms Instagram post back in September. Danny confirms the duet in his interview:

Formal finalists where asked by Billboard how to bring American Idol back. Here’s what Danny said:
Danny Gokey (season 8, top 3): “Keep the original format. In my opinion go back to the roots of the original judges and the way they did it from the beginning. Who knows? That’s the best thing I got. I would pick Simon, Paula and Randy. Bring the trio back.”
Constantine Maroulis (season 4, sixth place): “I would like it to look like me in Keith’s (Keith Urban) chair, Daughtry in Harry’s (Harry Connick, Jr.) chair and Jordin Sparks in J Lo’s (Jennifer Lopez) chair.

We loved seeing two hours of former Idol finalists coming back to celebrate the 15 years of Idol and crown the winner — Trent Harmon!
Of course, our favorite part was watching Danny Gokey join the soul group of George Huff, Clark Beckham, Elliott Yamin, and Brandon Rogers sing the Temptations hit “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”.
Did anyone notice a certain guy, not known for his Idol dance moves, was not like the others? HINT: see photo below!
The Washington Post had some things to say about the Idol Finale:
In typical “Idol” fashion, the two-hour show had a mix of moments that were funny, emotional and just plain weird — here are the top 10 moments, in order of the episode: Continue reading “Video: American Idol S15 Finale – “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” with Danny Gokey”
