It’s been FIVE years, but Danny Gokey is returning as the headliner for the 2017 Indiana State Fair on Sunday, August 13th!
The Chevrolet Silverado concerts are free but admission and parking fees are charged to enter the fair.
FLASHBACK: I found a video to Danny’s August 11, 2011 performance:
This video is from one of our friends and contributing photographers, Grace Fershee. It was taken at the BMI Songwriters Showcase at the Gospel Music Association’s Immerse Conference on June 13th in Nashville.
“After I asked musical director & keyboardist extraordinaire Maestro to come chill & hang out at Immerse he was then asked to jump on stage super last second to perform with Danny Gokey during the GMA Songwriter showcase accompanied by Benji Cowart… And they absolutely killed it! So great seeing these guys after volunteering all day!!”
Thanks for sharing your video, Grace! You can see some of Grace Fershee Photography that we have featured at

This year’s K-Love Fan Awards is not being streamed or broadcast live so we can’t directly confirm yet the awards winners being announced tonight at the event venue.
NOTE: One of Danny’s managers just shared the K-LOVE’s show card announcing Danny won “Male Artist of the Year” on social media. We consider that verification! 5/29/17 a.m.
To make it entirely official, we’ve found that the winners list went up sometime today at http://www.klove.com/events/fan-awards/winners/ 🙂 5/29/17 p.m.
However — we’re hearing reports on twitter that Danny Gokey was announced this evening as the K-Love Fan Award’s 2017 Male Artist of the Year, for the second straight year! Danny also seems to have had the privilege of opening the show with his current single “The Comeback,” which must have been spectacular from his preview with a talented local cheerleading team! While the Very Next Thing Tour with Casting Crowns is winding down, we love seeing the evolution of Danny Gokey on this tour. Many of us have noticed that the longer Danny has to work with a song, the more he makes it special and his own.

Danny Gokey performed a solo show in Montgomery, New York and we had a couple of our longtime fans, Toni and Anne Marie sharing a few little tidbits from Danny’s first full show from his latest album, “Rise”.
From the Q & A
- Are the videos for “The Comeback” ready? Danny reports that the lyric video for the Comeback is complete and they are receiving the proposals for the music video.
- Who will be on the fall tour? Danny revealed that his fall tour will be with Mandisa!
- What is Danny listening to right now? The newest album by William McDowell — “Sounds of Revival”?
And they provided a video of my fave, “Never Be the Same”. I think this is the first we have seen Danny perform it in concert. Continue reading “The Rise Tour Begins – Videos from NY”

Let’s help out the NEXT radio team— what would YOU ask Danny?
