With the Covid-19 Pandemic causing the cancellation of most public events (including concerts) we have been lucky to see Danny through multiple streaming performances. The above photo is from Danny’s singing of “Haven’t Seen It Yet” as a part of Saddleback Church‘s April 26th online service. They have uploaded his performance and I’ve included it below:
We’ve added a few videos from Danny’s Instagram account.
Danny Gokey’s third single from his latest album, “Haven’t Seen It Yet” is just starting to get radio play. Will it pass “Wanted” that peaked at #22 on the Billboard National Christian Airplay chart on 1/31/2020? Currently a few stations are spinning it. Hopefully April will see program directors embrace this song with such a positive message during this troubled time.
Danny Gokey’s second single from his latest album, “Haven’t Seen It Yet” moves up to #22 on the Billboard National Christian Airplay chart/ Its also nearly top 30 on the Mediabase CAC chart. Good to see it climbing after the holiday break.
While Danny was a top three finisher on Season 8 of “American Idol”, David was runner up to David Cook in Season 7. (The first season Danny reportedly watched with his late wife, Sophia. before he decided to try out in 2008.)
Danny Gokey and his team are getting ready to release the next single, “Wanted”. They have just released this video of the story behind the writing of the song with Jess Cates.
Jess has many successful songs check out the list HERE.
We don’t know the impact date, yet, for “Wanted” but with the fact that it is one of the Top 5 songs being streamed by the radio industry, it must be soon – and the official music video was shot in Nashville this week!
Danny Gokey talks about his new album, “Haven’t Seen It Yet”, his writing process, his experience with his music contracts, writing, producing the songs and how he sets his live shows. He also talks about
What he looks for in his musicians for his tour (he wants his musicians to be “buttery”.)
Celebrating others’ talents.
Finally, what he means when he says, “He’s not where I should be, but I’m not where I was.”
The best thing I heard is it that he would like to.” add background singers to his live shows! (I loved how he added horns the last couple of years!)
Danny Gokey and Shae Wilbur are back singing together in the new song, “Unmovable”.
She auditioned and made it to Hollywood for Season 8 of “American Idol” where she became friends with Danny. Sharon and her father, Joel Chernoff, were back up singers for Paul Wilbur. Because Joel Chernoff is best friends with Paul Wilbur, Sharon and her husband, Joel Wilbur, grew up together. In addition to singing, Sharon also writes songs and is TV host in Florida and recently with Season 17 of “American Idol”.
