We appreciate when Danny Gokey’s fans, like Rebecca Pau, send us videos and photos of recent concerts. Rebecca was lucky enough to see Danny perform some of his new music on the first night of Elevate 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Through the years, she has shared her concert (and Meet and Greet) experiences with us!
For “Haven’t Seen It Yet” album debut, Danny Gokey and his band made a stop at Sirius XM in New York City. They performed a few songs in studio, including the classic Doobie Brothers song,
“Long Train Running”.
Flashback to 2010, but maybe something new fans haven’t seen?
This song and the importance of not forgetting those that gave all for our freedom deserves repeating.
Memorial Day. A day to pause and remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation. To honor their legacy, we want to remember them and dedicate the following songs to our lost military and first responders.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.” -George S Patton
“I Will Not Say Goodbye” is sung by Danny Gokey and it was his second single with RCA Nashville. The studio version is available on his album “My Best Days”. Danny is accompanied by Brandon Fraley on piano and with background vocals. You can acquire the original song from Amazon HERE.
Danny Gokey talks about his new album, “Haven’t Seen It Yet”, his writing process, his experience with his music contracts, writing, producing the songs and how he sets his live shows. He also talks about
What he looks for in his musicians for his tour (he wants his musicians to be “buttery”.)
Celebrating others’ talents.
Finally, what he means when he says, “He’s not where I should be, but I’m not where I was.”
The best thing I heard is it that he would like to.” add background singers to his live shows! (I loved how he added horns the last couple of years!)
Danny Gokey was the guest artist for the 24th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Twenty four years ago, on April 19, 1995 a car bomb placed by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, happened at 9:02 am. It killed 168 people, injured more than 680 others, and destroyed one-third of the building.
The ceremony commemorates those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. After the bagpipes and the invited speakers enter, Danny opened the ceremony by singing “I Will Not Say Goodbye”. Unfortunately the audio for this song is not good. However, I love that Danny was invited to sing such a beautiful and appropriate song for this remembrance gathering. Continue reading “Oklahoma City Bombing Remembered”→
Acoustic Session: Danny Gokey Sings “Haven’t Seen It Yet”
While Danny Gokey served up two versions of his lead single, “Haven’t Seen It Yet’ on his new album, we wish this rich, acoustic version was also included!
In this video, Danny’s guitarist Miguel Perez, pianist Sam Montanez, and three background singers perform a stirring version. I love the whole thing, but those background singers are impressive!
Update – We were happy to see this as we very much enjoyed the vocal performances in the new acoustic video. All of the three background singers posted to their instagram highlighting their performances. Their names are Bethany Cruz, Terrell Hunt and Sharlisa Brooks. Bethany is credited as a background vocalist in the recorded track for Have You Seen It yet, according to the album notes.
Enjoy their instagram comments and performance excerpts below!
