Danny Gokey returned to his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to perform on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Stage of Summerfest! It was his third concert at the World’s Largest Music Fesitval (11 stages, 800 bands and more than 800,000 attendees) since placing 3rd on American Idol. There was a huge crowd for Danny’s “all age” performance at 6 PM on Sunday, July 2nd.

This is an acoustic gift from Danny Gokey: “Better Than I Found It” from his album, “RISE“. Danny sings this duet with gospel artist, Kierra Sheard. This song was produced by Danny’s band leader, Maestro Lightford. Miguel Perez, Eric Ramey, Bernard Bell and an unidentified choir accompany them.
This video of “Symptoms” makes us want to get on our feet and do the slide with Danny Gokey, Miguel Perez, Eric Ramey and Maestro Lightford!
Let’s all practice those dance steps for when Danny comes to our town!

And after 25 shows, this might be the way the band looks….
Last year the New Glarus Family Fest loved Danny so much, they said, “We have to bring him back as our headliner in 2015!” And that’s exactly what they did. Family Fest is a super event sponsored by Grace Church for their scenic village of New Glarus, Wisconsin. It features an outdoor church service, multiple bands, a car show, food, children’s activities and all are free!
This time Danny brought his full band! He sang many of the songs from his album “Hope in Front of Me” as well as a few cover songs. When Danny Gokey was on Season 8 of “American Idol” there was some debate on whether he could dance while he was singing.
We think Danny has figured it out and knows to keep it simple. Danny rocking out with his band is SO much fun to watch!
