50th Anniversary of the GMA Dove Awards

It was a very special night at Carnegie Hall with Danny Gokey joining Gospel Music Association‘s celebration of 50 years of Dove Awards at Carnegie Hall. Six award winning artists were invited to showcase the multi-cultural and multi-generational music on one stage. With a combined total of over 40 individual Dove Awards, they showcased a diversity of music. Appearing that night were host and performer: Mark Lowry, and artists Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Russ Taff, Natalie Grant and Danny Gokey.

Danny performed his songs “Haven’t Seen It Yet” and “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” but also “Give Me Jesus” and joined Natalie Grant to sing their duet of “The Prayer”. He also joined in with the other artist on three songs. Continue reading “A Night at Carnegie Hall” →

Danny Gokey to Perform at GMA/BMI Songwriter Showcase

The GMA (Gospel Music Association) Immerse Conference for aspiring Christian song writers features a BMI Songwriters Showcase on Tuesday, June 13th evening in Nashville, Tennessee. We are pleased to see Danny Gokey featured as well as many of the songwriters that worked wirh Danny on his albums. Of special note is writer and producer, Bernie Herms.

If I lived near Nashville, I think attending this event would be fascinating. Anyone going and they can report back to us on it?

Immerse 2016: BMI Songwriters Showcase Returns with Danny Gokey, More!

GMA’s Music Training Experience Takes Place in Nashville

IMMERSE 2016, the music community’s new talent competition and training experience for Christian artists, songwriters, worship leaders and future music business professionals. It runs Monday, June 13th through Wednesday, June 15th.

“Staying true to the Gospel Music Association’s mission to expose, promote and celebrate the Gospel through music, IMMERSE gives hands on training and mentoring to inspire creativity, foster community and advance education. All while keeping its focus solely on Christ. Located on the Lipscomb University campus, attendees can become more engaged in the experience, with opportunities to stay in the dorms, eat all meals on campus and dedicate these three days solely to their art and ministry.”

BMI is one of the sponsors of Immerse and is again hosting a Songwriter’s Showcase. It will occur on Tuesday, June 14th at 7 PM – 8:30 PM. Anthony Brown, Bill Gaither, Richard Smallwood, Jordan Feliz, Jim & Melissa Brady, Darren Mulligan, & Danny Gokey.

Danny Gokey Joins GMA Tribute to Russ Taff

The GMA Honors celebration was held on Tuesday, May 10 at Lipscomb University.

Hezekiah Walker, Howard Rachinski, The Nelons and Russ Taff were inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
