Grammy Day for Team Danny Gokey!

We got to love seeing Leyicet and Danny Gokey on the cover of their local paper, The Tennessean! And especially since its about Danny’s Grammy nomination for his album, “Rise”! Are you ready to tune in at Grammy.com to watch the Premiere Ceremony at 3 PM EST?

There’s a really nice write up on Danny and the other nominees at the Grammy website.

As the 60th GRAMMY Awards approach, the five nominees for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album are exceptional representatives of how faith and music can come together spiritually.

Here’s a bit from “The Tennessean” lead photo story:

Christian singer Danny Gokey thought his record label representative was “butt dialing” him. It was 7:45 a.m…… Gokey ….. almost declined the call. But, he didn’t.

“I was, ‘Hey, what’s up Jason?’” Gokey recalled. “And he was like, ‘Hello Grammy-nominated Danny Gokey.’”

Wouldn’t we love it if Danny Gokey’s Christian Album of the Year category was part of the nationally televised program?  We won’t have to wait as long since the Christian music awards (and another 60+ categories) will be presented earlier in the day at the Recording Academy Premiere Ceremony.

This event is hosted at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28.  It will be streamed live internationally via GRAMMY.com from 3–6 p.m EST.  This prior to the 60th GRAMMY Awards telecast. Singer, composer and instrumentalist Paul Shaffer will host the ceremony and will serve as musical director.  Some of the nominees will serve as presenters:   Zac Brown, Natalie Grant and Bernie Herms, Ledisi, Lisa Loeb, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and former Recording Academy Chair Jimmy Jam.
