Can our fave artist really be turning 40 on Friday, April 24th? Its been 11 years since Danny became part of Season 8 of “American Idol” and his soulful voice entered our living rooms!

While he definitely has found music success via his work with RCA Nashville, BMG and now Capital Christian Music labels, its his sweet family that takes center stage for Danny.

We hope Danny has a wonderful day celebrating with Leyicet, (little) Danny, Victoria, Gabriel and Emmanuel!

K-LOVE Awards, Interviews and More

Danny Gokey and Leyicet on the K-LOVE Red CarpetDanny Gokey and his wife, Leyicet, walked the Red Carpet for the K-LOVE Fan Awards and this interview is with CCM Magazine.  (Danny was nominated for Male Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year.)

In Danny Gokey’s interview he talks about the next phase of Sophia’s Heart. He relayed that he has renamed the charity as “Better Than I Found It” and that they are filming the first segment. He also relayed the difficulties in running a homeless shelter with the limited funds they could raise.

Wouldn’t we love it if Danny Gokey’s Christian Album of the Year category was part of the nationally televised program?  We won’t have to wait as long since the Christian music awards (and another 60+ categories) will be presented earlier in the day at the Recording Academy Premiere Ceremony.

This event is hosted at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28.  It will be streamed live internationally via GRAMMY.com from 3–6 p.m EST.  This prior to the 60th GRAMMY Awards telecast. Singer, composer and instrumentalist Paul Shaffer will host the ceremony and will serve as musical director.  Some of the nominees will serve as presenters:   Zac Brown, Natalie Grant and Bernie Herms, Ledisi, Lisa Loeb, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and former Recording Academy Chair Jimmy Jam.
