First up, a little bit from the Question & Answer before the concert:

What is your favorite song?

After Natalie said a hymn, Danny said “Give Me Jesus” to which Natalie joked “way to self promote, Danny” and burst out laughing. I love their camaraderie. She said they are like brother and sister and he agreed cause she picks on him but since he grew up with 4 sisters who picked on him, he’s used to it.

What is on your bucket list?

Natalie answered that one of hers has already happened and that was headlining Carnegie Hall but another item she hopes to come true is to live in NYC for 6 months. Danny jokingly said he hopes his album sells a million copies but then in excitement said one item is going to happen in the summer because he has a booking in Hawaii. Wow. Did we know this? (Editor’s note:  Yes, we did, but a date and specific location has NOT been announced….)

Danny Gokey Lands 3 Songs on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs Chart!

Hot Christian Songs

It was a very MERRY Christmas week for Danny Gokey’s two Christmas singles to radio and his newest single, “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again”!  Danny had THREE songs on the Billboard Hot Christian Song chart dated January 9, 2016 (which is for the week of Christmas).

Danny’s “Mary, Did You Know” was the “Greatest Gainer” on the Hot Christian Chart and moved up five places to #14.  His “Lift Up Your Eyes” entered the Top 20 at #17 (22) and “Tell Your Heart To Beat Again” moves into the Top 30 at #25  (was #32)!

There are also other good chart news on the Christian Airplay Chart.  “Mary, Did You Know” rises two spots to #8 and was also the “Greatest Gainer” on that chart.

I’ll add the other charts when I get a chance, but I thought we needed to celebrate Danny’s achievement of THREE Hot Christian Songs at once!

A New Billboard Top Ten Song for Danny Gokey! “Mary Did You Know” and More Chart News

Christmas Is Here on iTune Banner (440x208)Danny Gokey has a NEW Top TEN song on Billboard from his album “Christmas Is Here”

The competition between Danny Gokey’s two Christmas singles has been “neck to neck” on the Billboard charts. On the 1/2/2016  Billboard Christian Airplay chart, “Mary Did You Know” (MDYK) breaks away to enter the Top Ten! It moves to #10 from #16 last week, while “Lift Up Your Eyes” (LUYE) is up to #13 (up 5 spots.)

Also, it is a nice surprise to see “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” (TYHTBA) at #19!  It is the “greatest gainer” for this week. And this is its first time in the top 20!Billboard CA 01 02 16 (294x461)

“PTL” Christmas Special! Danny Gokey Performs & Interviewed by Host Jason Crabb

tbn 11 (430x273)Danny Gokey joined host, Jason Crabb, on TBN‘s “Praise The Lord” special Christmas themed program.  Danny performed both of his Christmas singles, “Mary Did You Know” and “Lift Up Your Eyes”.  In his interview he discussed creating his first Christmas album, “Christmas Is Here”, and gave an update on his charity, Sophia’s Heart.

The program included performances and inteviews with  Rhonda Vincent, Collin Raye, Jon & Val Guerra, David Britton, Pastor Aaron Crabb and Danny.  Danny’s segment starts at the 1 hour 38 minute mark in this 2 hour program.

Danny Gokey has been crossing the USA with the K-LOVE Christmas Tour— 16 shows in 18 days! Is it fueling the play of his Christmas music? We see some great chart movement!  We love seeing these two fabulous songs by Danny moving up the Billboard charts!

On the 12/26/15 Christian Airplay Billboard Chart,  “Mary Did You Know” moves up to #16 (up 5 spots).  “Lift Up Your Eyes” is #18 (up 4 spots.)
