Acoustic Session: Danny Gokey Sings “Haven’t Seen It Yet”
While Danny Gokey served up two versions of his lead single, “Haven’t Seen It Yet’ on his new album, we wish this rich, acoustic version was also included!
In this video, Danny’s guitarist Miguel Perez, pianist Sam Montanez, and three background singers perform a stirring version. I love the whole thing, but those background singers are impressive!
Update – We were happy to see this as we very much enjoyed the vocal performances in the new acoustic video. All of the three background singers posted to their instagram highlighting their performances. Their names are Bethany Cruz, Terrell Hunt and Sharlisa Brooks. Bethany is credited as a background vocalist in the recorded track for Have You Seen It yet, according to the album notes.

Danny Gokey returned to his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to perform on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Stage of Summerfest! It was his third concert at the World’s Largest Music Fesitval (11 stages, 800 bands and more than 800,000 attendees) since placing 3rd on American Idol. There was a huge crowd for Danny’s “all age” performance at 6 PM on Sunday, July 2nd.
The Worship in the Adirondacks is a two day Christian Music Festival at the Word of Life Ranch in rural Pottersville, New York. It was also the reunion spot for three longtime Danny Gokey fans: Maria, Anne Marie and Jan. While it had been years since we’d all been together (a Carribean Sophia’s Heart cruise?), our friendship was renewed over a Danny Gokey concert — and a good, old fashioned summertime drenching!
On Friday, June 23rd we journeyed to the little town of Pottersville in Upstate New York to attend the Worship in the Adirondacks Christian Festival. We were looking forward to seeing Jasmine Murray, Ryan Stevenson, Unspoken, Steven Curtis Chapman and our fave, Danny Gokey for the 1st day line-up.
Skies were threatening and turned into a full deluge as we had to pull off the highway to wait for better visibility. Fortunately it soon cleared and we arrived at the large, but soggy, festival area.
Did you think I would SKIP seeing Danny Gokey return to his hometown on The Next Very Thing Tour?
I didn’t think so.
When the tickets went on sale I managed to snag two tickets from the Ticketmaster phone App. It told me they were the “Best Available” tickets when the Casting Crowns pre-sale started. I’ve been burned by letting the ticket seller pick my seats (Eau Claire for the Celebrate Christmas Tour….) but I was on my phone at work. So, I grabbed them, checked out and hoped for the best.
